MARTINEZ — 18 months after the Calif. Public Employees’ Retirement System stated more than one hundred Martinez city employees who haven’t been paying Social Security taxes should be, the city is still waiting for its day in court on its appeal of that ruling, with no hearing scheduled.

The Public Employees’ Retirement System Office of Audit Services ruled in late 2015 that the joint agency, at least practically speaking, doesn’t really exist.

The city on Fri Oct 30 2015, appealed that CalPERS ruling on the legitimacy of the Pleasant Hill-Martinez Joint Facilities Agency. CalPERS spokeswoman Amy Morgan stated this week there is no appeal hearing scheduled yet in this case.
